The ‘Butterfly effect’ challenge

ButterflyTim Brighouse and David Woods asked us to think about Butterfly effects in our own teaching practice – the very small changes that can lead to significantly altered (hopefully improved) outcomes.

Small interventions can have a big impact, so sharing these, between teachers, departments and schools can have a substantial effect on the progress our students make. Tim and David asked us to identify our ‘low effort’ interventions which have had a high impact, and to share them.

I’ve attached the Butterfly effect template here. Each department is tasked with coming up with your top five Butterflies, to be brought together in a whole school booklet.

Happy Butterfly hunting!
